Is Firelight suitable for children?

An ever so slightly less annoying version of EYStreem. Pretty much all Minecraft content.

Overall Rating

Production value is good, but severely let down by how quickly the scene changes - hundreds of quick cuts, no doubt ruining any attention span your kid has. Suitable for kids 6 - 9 and older, but honestly I’d ask my kid to watch something else. Very annoying and attention grabbing voice. If you can look past this, content is generally OK.

Suitability Rating

Firelight is suitable for 6 - 9 years and older. Content wise it's pretty much all Minecraft. Younger kids might get frightened at some of the in-game characters that make an appearance, such as Sirenhead and Bloodbath (Let’s be honest, I have no idea who they are), other than that it’s pretty harmless.

Content wise, like I said, all Minecraft, a bit of storytelling and some random topics. I honestly don’t know how they can come up with so much stuff!

After doing a bit of Internet sleuthing, it seems that just like EYStreem, Firelight is “Owned and operated by Spawnpoint Media” which looks to be a media creation company.

You can see exactly when they took over his channel. If you browse Firelight’s videos and order them by oldest, his first 6 videos are clearly made by him and from then on you can see when Spawnpoint media comes into it.

The production quality shoots up massively, but sadly so does the amount of cuts and edits (where the camera zooms in, cuts to another scene, screen shakes, some random effect etc) to the point where there’s literally hundreds of cuts. This REALLY annoys me. How are you meant to focus or concentrate when things are changing so fast on screen. This can’t be good for kids!

Annoyance Rating

Loud and shouty, almost all of the time. As a parent, it's a real chore to listen to and heaven forbid, watch! But obviously kids will love Firelights videos. Classic “YouTuber Voice” - You know, has to shout and be overly dramatic to try and keep your child's attention.

With an average video length of about 20 minutes, It’s genuinely a difficult watch.

Merchandise and Sponsorships

From what I can tell there isn’t any mention of merchandise for Firelight, not in his YouTube about / bio section at least and I’ve not seen anything advertised in his videos.
